The Bugz Playpark Riding School can offer lessons for both kids or their parents! We specialise in teaching children the essentials of riding and pony knowledge.

Our horses are well-schooled and will give the rider confidence as they learn the ropes. Once the basics have been established the lessons progress with different movements.

3 well behaved welsh ponies
Max 2 children in a group (once intermediate phase has been reached)
Children from 4 years old

Children’s Beginner Lessons:

½ hour lead rein lesson

Suitable for a child who has never ridden before or still on the lead rein. Basic skills are taught in a safe and fun environment. A parent/guardian will need to be present for this lesson.

Children’s Novice Lessons:

½ hour lesson

This lesson is suitable for a child who can walk and trot off the lead rein. This lesson will focus on balance, confidence and making sure that the pony feels that the child has full control...

Children’s Intermediate Lesson:

½ hour lesson

This is suitable for a child that can happily walk, trot and ca ntre off the lead rein. Independance of the the leg and hand are taught. The aim is for the child to feel confident in all 3 paces.

Children’s Advanced Lessons:

½ hour lesson

This is suitable for the child who can ride at all paces and jump a course of jumps over 2ft 3. They will be an independent rider that can now start developing their skills and focus on how their riding can improve the horses way of going.

Adult Lessons:

½ hour lesson

Adult lessons are available as a private or a group lesson. The lessons will progress as and when the rider is ready, and the adult will be taught by a sympathetic and friendly instructor.
